21st Century Scholars Program

21st Century Scholars tries to make college affordable for all Indiana families. If you qualify, your student can receive up to four years of college tuition to attend an eligible Indiana public or private college, university or proprietary institution. To enroll, you must be an Indiana resident, and your family must meet income guidelines. You need to apply in 7th or 8th grade.

What do I get from this program?

First, you couldn get free tuition if you're a 21st Century Scholar. The program also provides support so that families and schools can work together to help students be successful as they continue their education. The determination of whether a student is eligible for the 21st Century Scholarship is mainly depended upon the family's income.

The application process is FREE. Parents are not responsible for any application fee, postage, or any other cost. There are only a few "painless" requirements your son/daughter must abide by:

1. Will graduate with an Indiana High School Diploma.
2. Will achieve a 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale starting in the 9th grade.
3. Will not use drugs, alcohol, or commit a crime.
4. Will apply for admission to an eligible Indiana college or university as a twelfth grader.
5. Will apply on time state and federal student financial aid.

As you can see the process is very easy and painless. The only aspect you need to worry about right now is getting your son/daughter enrolled (which means simply filling out the application). If the student is not enrolled by the end of their eighth grade year they are ineligible. Thus, a student may not enroll after their eighth grade year.
