News Release-SSC Online Registration for 2015-2016

 

 

Registration for all returning students to Shenandoah School Corporation will be conducted online beginning July 6, 2015 at 12:00 pm.  Parents will be able to register through the individual school Harmony website.  All state and Shenandoah School Corporation forms required for registration are available online.

All returning students will need their Harmony information to register.  Usernames and passwords remain the same as last year.  You may register your student(s) at SMS and/or SHS beginning at noon on July 6, 2015.  SES student online registration will be available soon.  You cannot pay registration fees online until July 20, 2015.  Any parent/guardian who does not remember their username and/or password or has questions about online registration should contact SSC Central office at 765-354-2266 beginning Monday, July 20, 2015. 

Online registration may be completed from any computer with internet access.  Any parent/guardian who does not have internet access or would prefer to receive assistance with the process is encouraged to register at the building level on the following dates:  July 28, 29, or 30, 2015.  Times for registration will be 8:00 to 11:00 AM and 1:00 to 3:00 PM each day with evening hours on Wednesday the 29th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.  All new SHS Shenandoah students will need to call the school for an appointment and bring a copy of their certified birth certificate and immunization records for registration.  SES and SMS new students please attend July 28, 29, or 30, 2015 to register.

Student schedules or class assignments will be available online beginning July 20, 2015.  Schedule changes for current high school students may be made at the high school on July 28, 29, or 30.  The guidance office will be open on registration dates during posted times.  Payment for textbooks and fees is expected at the time of registration.  Payment may be made online using a credit card or debit card.

Free and reduced lunches are available through federal programs in the schools for those who qualify.  The criteria and application are available through online registration beginning July 20, 2015.  Please complete only one application per family.  Families that have received a letter indicating that they have qualified for free and reduced lunch via Direct Certification do not need to complete an application.

A note from our Nurse. . . . .

Dear Parent/Guardian:

As you begin to prepare your student for entry into Shenandoah Middle School, please be aware that there are 2 immunizations required for ALL students in grades 6 – 12.

Changes mandated by revision in the Indiana immunization code are as follows:

  1. All 6th – 12th grade students will be required to have 1 does of tetanus-diptheria-acellular pertussis vaccine (Tdap) given on or after the 10th birthday.
  2. All 6th – 11th grade students will be required to have 1 dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4).

According to state regulations, if a student does NOT receive the required immunizations, they will not be allowed to attend school.  If you have any questions regarding the immunization requirements, please feel free to contact me at 354-6636.

Immunizations may be obtained through the local health departments.  To find out if you qualify for this service and to schedule an appointment with them, you may call the Henry County Health Department at 521-7053.  Please present a copy of your child’s immunization record to the Health Department when obtaining vaccinations, as well as, a current insurance card, if applicable.

Please send a copy of the updated immunization records to the school nurse’s office as soon as the immunizations are obtained.  Records must be received prior to the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year.
